From Agatha Christie to Lee Child, from Sherlock Holmes to Kay Scarpetta: thrillers; crime fiction; and their respective protagonists remain as popular today as they were during the Golden Age of Detective Fiction.
- Why is that?
- Why are readers so attracted to the blood and gore depicted in these books?
- What can these works tell us about the human condition?
- This workshop makes YOU the detective of the above - investigating what makes the perfect crime novel.
We will look at:
- What are the essential elements required for writing a crime novel?
- What works and what doesn’t?
- What are the different genres of crime fiction?
- What makes the best characters?
Once we’ve tackled the basics, it’s over to you to start your own work of crime fiction and brainstorming the beginning of your thriller or detective novel.
This workshop is suitable for those aged 18 and above.
